Advanced Bloodstain Pattern Analysis
In this advanced course, students will take their basic bloodstain analysis
skills to the next level by refreshing learned skills from the Basic 40-hour
course and developing investigators' ability to recognize, document,
analyze, and collect stains related to clothing and more complicated substrates,
multiple impact events, multiple victim / suspect events, and how to categorize
bloodstains according to established principles by the International Association
of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts. Cognitive bias will be discussed along
with the importance of objective analysis, the scientific method, and
the peer-review process. There will be focus on document preparation and
courtroom testimony procedures.

**A 40-hour Basic Bloodstain Analysis course is a required prerequisite
