Students taking this course will learn the basic procedures of crime scene
documentation via photography. Showing a fair and accurate depiction of
the scene is paramount to photographic documentation. Students will be
shown how to correctly format photographs, use the on-camera flash, photograph
evidence in situ with and without number placards, and how to photographically
place evidence into a crime scene for courtroom presentation.
This class is ideal for police officers responsible for documenting uncomplicated
scenes that do not require or fall under the need for a crime scene investigator.
Nikon D80 or Canon 20D camera kits will be provided to students for use
during this course.
