Our Managing Partners Donate $1,500 to Help Children in Need

Posted By CSI Academy of Florida || 24-Jul-2015

CSI Academy of Florida’s managing partners, Tom and Phyllis Sperring and Robert Rush recently assisted the Gainesville Police Department's Operation Backpack—a charity event established to help local kids. The Sperrings and Mr. Rush donated $1,500 to the cause and are happy to play a role in something that will impact the lives of so many children in need throughout the Greater Duval Area.

About Operation Backpack

Operation Backpack was started as a way to give school supplies to children in the Duval Area. 135 children from financially struggling families have been selected to receive new backpacks filled with school supplies. These children and their families who don’t have the means to buy simple things—like crayons, scissors, glue, composition books, and pencils—will be hand delivered a backpack filled with supplies for the new school year.

Our Managing Partners Care About Our Community

Tom, Phyllis, and Robert's generous donation will be used to supply these children with brand new backpacks and supplies, giving them the tools they need to have another successful year in school. Many of these kids will be attending a new or different school this year and so these simple gifts will give them a restored sense of confidence and the eagerness as they prepare to return to school. Every child deserves the chance to enjoy learning!

The Gainesville Police Department continues to provide this type of support with the Greater Duval Neighborhood Revitalization, which is designed to create programs that will improve the community and lives of local children.
